Good news to all Ford fanatics out there. The company is coming out with the new Ford Taurus 2013 model. The current model of the Ford Taurus model has been out for only two years now, but Ford has already decided to come out with the next generation of the Ford Taurus and made its debut at the New York Auto Show. Well, it seems that Ford did not really waste any of its time and enhanced the design, powertrains and levels of content in order to come out with this new model.
As a result of Ford’s effort, the new Ford Taurus now encompasses more aggressive styling tweaks. Ford executive did not also deny the fact that they have used the Audi A6 as benchmark in designing this new Taurus model. Apparently, a more aggressive look will be seen in this new Ford Taurus model. This is for the base Taurus as well as the high-end SHO.
The non-SHO Taurus comes with a new 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four under its hood. And its powertrain is expected to achieve up to 31 miles per gallon on the highway. There is also a choice of the standard 3.5-liter V6, which is now capable of producing around 290 hp.
However, when it comes to SHO, its 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 has been left untouched. No enhancement was made in any way since it still produces 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. But Ford has put in bigger master cylinder to its brake system and has also added new brake pads as well. These slight changes made will apparently help in coming out with an improved response and feel. Since the company believes that SHO’s brakes have been its downside and they hope that these alterations will result to a more enhanced performance.
Knowing Ford’s reputation when it comes to its vehicles, the Ford Taurus 2013 will surely live up to its tradition and that is bringing its consumers the best design and performance. The new Ford Taurus 2013 delivers more of what large sedan customers really want and that is a better fuel economy, more fuel economy, enhanced design and improved driving dynamics.
The 2013 Ford Taurus is expected to hit showrooms on the first half of next year. So watch out for it.
